Design Considerations for Drone Batteries
One of the more complex applications that we develop batteries for is drones–complex because there are specific considerations that our customers have to keep in mind. We've compiled a list of ten significant considerations when choosing a drone battery. A good battery will balance these factors, such as energy density, power, weight, durability, safety, and cost-effectiveness, and ultimately provide optimal performance and flight experience.
Energy Density
A good drone battery should have a high energy density, meaning it can store a large amount of energy per unit of weight or volume. This energy density allows the drone to fly longer without frequent recharging.
Power Output
The battery should deliver sufficient power to supply the drone's motors and other electronics, especially during maneuvers or adverse conditions.
